Outreach House - Holiday Party 2007
Local 27 got to share the holidays with our adopted family at Outreach House. We were planning to cook a traditional holiday dinner but the ladies said they wanted steak, so steak it was. We fired up the grill (provided by our Brothers at IAFF Local 3288) and cooked up a batch of rib eye steaks. We had quite a spread; fruit and veggie trays, meat platters, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, cookies.
Santa's list was right on the mark. He brought each of the ladies a soft flannel night gown, in their favorite colors and a warm pair of slippers. He also brought the house a new flat mount CD player complete with a set of classic holiday CDs and a gift card from Wal-Mart to add to their collection.
The ladies were truly surprised and a nice warm holiday feeling was shared by all.
Thanks to IAFF Local 3288, Hanover Coop, Outreach House Manager Susan Shinn, Coconuts, The Ballard and Paulsen families and my wife Chris for all of their help in making this a great event.

**UPDATE**
Sadly one of our adopted grandmothers, "Bunny", passed away this spring. We know that her family, friends, the Outreach House staff and her "grandchildren" at Local 27 will miss her and remember her fondly.
